The security guard in co op kentish town should be fired, he is very intimidating towards young kids, follows my son around the shop every time even when he is with his parents, and his reason is his age by law you are not allowed to discriminate against people because of there age, you can also follow but not be so obvious this guy is literally on top of the kids, after many occasions finally something was said an now my son is bard, never has he been bared from a shop, but then he hasn't been followed around a store because of his age.I tried to speak to the staff in there on an occasion but they don't care. The security guard in store is not following his own company policy. I will be taking this further. And will not be giving my custom to the co op after this, a customer lost due to incompetent staff!

A usual trip to my local co-op gone horribly wrong & when I asked to speak to the manager, a very rude woman called Yasmin who is Meant to be the manager completely dismissed me as a regular customer. I don’t recommend going into this store. Vinay also the ‘manager’ supposedly disregarded any feedback I had to let him know about and also said to me ‘he’s too busy to speak right now’. How does Co-op employ staff like this firstly & I will be talking this matter further to head office as I believe they are not fit and do not have the experience to be running a whole store.

One of the best grocery stores in Kentish Town. It's clean, the shelves are well stocked, the hours are convenient, and it's the ONLY large grocery selling organic skim milk.I come here quite often, and I like it.It's a good shop.I notice many of the -star reviews are from people who have not reviewed many other places. Whereas all the local guides who have written many proper reviews give and stars.

Unfortunately a simple trip to a local shop on a lovely day gone wrong.Went in to co-op after a long day to purchase two Elk Warnings. Got them out the fridge and put them on a stand next to me so I could get my phone that had traveled to the bottom of my bag. It took me a while and I noticed a staff member looking at me suspiciously. Although I shot him back a defensive look, I made an attempt to move forward into his line of view so he could see I was simply rifling through my bag. I understand that they have to be very cautious but he kept on staring at me in disdain as if I was a terrorist or modern day criminal.I found my phone but also noticed Echo falls summer wines were on offer so I considered those. I accept that I was a bit windswept so my hair was everywhere but despite that I believe I was decently dressed in a leather jacket and a summer dress. I would hate to think that in my black skin had anything to do with it.I didn't mind the lovely cashier lady asking for ID as it's her job. I didn't mind the Security officer asking to check my bag as it was his job. He was also very polite about it and I know I had not done anything wrong. The main problem I had was the man with the beard persistently staring at me like I had committed murder and potentially gossiping to other customers as if I was a criminal.Regular customer of Co-op off Store street in central London and was excited that their was one closer to home - Oh well.STRONG need for staff training there. Just report it to security and carry on. All other staff members were lovely.
